San Diego is phenomenal. Period. There is so much to entertain.
What’s not so phenomenal? People. I’m becoming quite exhausted from simply being disappointed by people these days. And not just people in general- people who supposedly care (or cared) about you. Seriously- how many times can somebody disappoint you before you just give up on them? I’m quite amazed at how high that number is already (and it’s still climbing).
On the plus side, I’ve been channeling my aggression into my workouts. Accompanied by angry power music, it’s amazing how far I can push myself. My trainer handed me a hefty little medicine ball today and had me slam it down over and over and over. It felt amazing. We’re working on both strength and power this week. San Diego’s become my sort of personal rejuvenation period. Lots of working out, lots of Vitamin D, and lots of changes for the better. I’m also quite seriously contemplating becoming a vegetarian (well, maybe a pescatarian to start- I do love fish). Almost finished reading Crazy Sexy Diet by Kris Carr. I think a mostly raw, mostly veg diet would be beneficial for me….I’ve cut back most dairy and pretty much all crazy-refined/processed carbs- all whole grains, no added sugars…it’s amazing how much better I feel (and look- added bonus, right?).
Song of the week (since it’s stuck in my head): Ghetto Story Chapter 2 by Cham with Alicia Keys.
Remember those days when I went to bed hungry / all I ever ate was white rice and honey / big dreams in my head empty my tummy / might crack a smile but ain’t nothing funny.
Off to bed. Quite ecstatic for real work and power yoga tomorrow.
